1. Overview

DCTactics (“we,” “our,” “the Company”) provides defensive-control training, scenario labs, and educational services for public-safety, healthcare, security, and related organizations. By accessing our website, booking training, or submitting an intake form, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree to these terms, please refrain from using our website or services.

2. Training Disclaimer

Our programs focus on non-weapon, position-based control, situational awareness, and de-escalation principles.
Training is not a substitute for your organization’s policies, legislation, medical protocols, or internal defensive tactics frameworks.

Participants must:

  • Follow their own employer’s policies at all times.
  • Use skills only within their operational scope, training, and legal authority.
  • Notify instructors of any medical limitations or injuries prior to participation.

DCTactics is not responsible for agency policy violations, misuse of skills outside of training, or actions taken by participants on duty.

3. Assumption of Risk

Physical training carries inherent risks. By attending any DCTactics session, the participant and organization acknowledge:

  • Risk of strains, sprains, bumps, or minor injuries.
  • Responsibility to monitor personal medical limits.
  • Responsibility to report unsafe behaviour or equipment immediately.

We maintain safety-first teaching practices; however, participants train at their own risk.

4. Agency Responsibilities

Agencies booking training agree to:

  • Ensure staff are medically fit for participation.
  • Provide appropriate training space (mats, cleared area, safe environment).
  • Ensure supervisors understand how the training fits into their own policies.
  • Communicate any special requirements ahead of time.

5. Payment, Invoicing & Cancellations

5.1 Payment Terms

Payment is due according to the invoice provided.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • A deposit may be required to secure training dates.
  • Remaining balance is due by the training date or within 30 days of invoice.

5.2 Cancellations

Cancellations made:

  • More than 14 days before training: no cancellation fee.
  • 7–14 days before training: 50% of the training fee may be charged.
  • Less than 7 days before training: full fee may be charged (due to booking, prep, and scheduling costs).

DCTactics reserves the right to reschedule in the case of instructor illness, unsafe conditions, or unforeseen emergencies.

6. Intellectual Property

All course materials, videos, worksheets, graphics, curriculum designs, and written content are the exclusive property of DCTactics.
